Monday 16th - bike ***** - Short Two Rivers, Orwell to the Deben – Sunny and hot:).

After yesterday’s epic 5-hour 20-mile bike ride we thought about taking it easy today but woke to another sunny warm day so Mag and I decided to take our morning cuppa to the pier at Landguard. We left a little later today heading down to the prom this time turning right and the gulls were again busy taking rubbish out of the bins while further along the local oafs had pushed a wheelie bin full of rubbish onto the beach:( We bumped into a nice lady, the Grandma of one of the kids we used to childmind who has sadly just lost her husband and had a nice chat with her. There were defiantly more people about this morning but they thinned out when we left the prom and entered Landguard Reserve and were greeted by the local Linnets:) Then past some Shell ducks, a Lapwing and a Plover. We sat on the wooden sleepers on the old pier right by the River Orwell for our cuppa watching the action, the pilot boat heading out to a huge container ship, yachts and fishing boats to with cormorant’s drying their wings with turn diving for fish, just lovely:) I then walk out along the pier while Mag makes a little video for the Grandson Arlo and I am amazed to spot a squirrel with just sits by the sleepers not in the slightest bothered and miles from the nearest trees!!!! We then go to the viewing point but there are not many ships in Felixstowe dock so head back to the prom. Mag then returns home while I continue onto Felixstowe Ferry to complete the two-river ride and back through The Grove. I then ride through the town centre to see the score now the shops are open but several shops are still closed and there were not many queues but to be honest we both hate shopping only going food shopping every couple of weeks and for everything else we use the internet:) Then home for breakfast and exercises in the garden before going to see our old friend Mary in her front garden.
